Relax in our rustic cabin community sauna on Lake Superior’s edge – open only to private residents and guests of Temperance Landing. This old fashioned, classic Finnish sauna is located on the south end of the property in a restored 70-year-old log cabin operating here since the 1930's.

The Star of the North Sauna is large enough to accommodate a group of 8-10 people. The sauna is complete with a shower room and changing area for those who feel compelled to take the short jaunt down the cobblestone steps to the beach and jump in the lake for a refreshing plunge! We dare you to take a plunge and then heat things back up in the sauna. 

Temperance Landing guests have free unlimited access to indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna at our sister resort - Surfside on Lake Superior.  The indoor pool is located in the Waves of Superior Spa and Recreation Center. The pool area features a vaulted pine ceiling, L-shaped lap pool with depths ranging from 3’-4’, a hot tub overlooking Lake Superior, sauna, and men’s and women’s changing rooms with showers and guest towels. Indoor pool hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; access is provided with your room key card.

Temperance Landing guests have access to fitness center, located in the Waves of Superior Spa and Recreation Center at Surfside Resort.  The center features health club quality equipment and breathtaking Lake Superior views you won’t find in any health club! Tune up your body on our treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, NuStep, and free weights with weight bench. The pool and fitness center hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; access is provided with your room key card.

Temperance Landing guests are invited to discover the relaxation and renewal at Waves of Superior Spa, located at our sister resort - Surfside on Lake Superior. Waves of Superior is the only full-service destination spa on the North Shore. Step from our luxuriously appointed men’s and women’s locker rooms into any of five massage rooms, including a space exclusively for couples. After your treatment, escape to either of our tranquil indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. Temperance Landing guests receive 10% discount.

Temperance Landing's sister resort, Bluefin Bay, offers two award-winning restaurants less than a mile away. The Bluefin Grille is a full-menu restaurant and bar located just feet from Lake Superior. The Grille serves up some of the most breathtaking views on the North Shore, as well as regionally inspired cuisine including fresh Lake Superior trout.

The Coho Café & Bakery is best known for its award-winning pizza, fresh baked breads and pastries, and specialty soups and salads. Coho Café also offers picnic lunches for daily excursions. Both restaurants deliver to Surfside guest townhomes on weekends; daily during the summer.

Waves of Superior Cafe at Surfside offers light and healthy fare ranging from simple to inventive.  Enjoy your morning coffee or a fresh orange juice, freshly prepared salad or hot or cold sandwich on the sun deck overlooking Lake Superior. Hours vary by season; summer hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Temperance Landing guests have access to recreation equipment at Surfside Guest Services, as well as to all activities and outdoor equipment provided at our sister resort, Bluefin Bay. Between the two resorts, guests can enjoy complimentary recreational equipment for all seasons. In the winter, we offer use of ice skates, cross country ski equipment, and snowshoes. In the spring, summer, and fall, we provide mountain and road bikes, guided kayaking excursions, hiking trail guides and backpacks, tennis equipment, badminton and bocce ball sets, and more - all to help you enjoy the beauty of the North Shore.

Temperance Landing's ledgerock shoreline, right on Lake Superior’s edge, provides plenty of opportunity for exploring. Guests have direct access to the cobblestone beach from every log home. It's a wonderful place for families and friends to spend a relaxing afternoon or watch stars at night.

Each Temperance Landing log home has a gas BBQ grill located on lakeside porch, providing a great opportunity for cookouts and picnics.

Temperance Landing currently does not offer WIFI services, however a guest computer with Internet access is available in the lobby of the Guest Services building at Surfside. Our business center in Guest Services will also provide photocopies or fax services as needed.
