Enjoy our walking trails connecting to Temperance River State Park and the Cross River. Relax on the cobblestone beach or ledge rock Lake Superior shoreline and watch the waves roll in at your feet. Or, take the short jaunt to the AmericInn in Tofte to relax in the indoor pool, where Temperance Landing residents and guests have free unlimited access.

Star of the North Sauna: And, if all of this is too much activity for you, relax in our community sauna open to private residents and guests. It’s an old fashioned, classic Finnish sauna located on the south end of the property in a restored 70-year-old log cabin operating here since the 1930's.

The Star of the North Sauna has two state-of-the-art saunas with a connecting accordion door to accommodate a larger group. The sauna is complete with a shower room and changing area for those who feel compelled to take the short jaunt down the cobblestone steps to the beach and jump in the lake for a refreshing plunge! We dare you to take a plunge and then heat things back up in the sauna. Finally, cool down by taking an outdoor shower overlooking Big Blue.

Indoor Pool and Whirlpool: Temperance Landing guests have free, unlimited access to the indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna at our sister hotel - the AmericInn of Tofte. The pools boast Lake Superior views and include changing facilities, as well as a game area. The pool facilities are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
